What is the Shi Tu Scheme
Shi-Tu Scheme provides students with opportunities to learn through close and continuous interaction with academic or teaching staff. It is hoped that the traditional Chinese virtue of respecting teachers and caring for students can be promoted through close teacher-student relationships. With the generous donation from Tin Ka Ping Foundation and the Scheme having experiential learning components, a Learning Award comprising a one-off honorarium of around HK$3,500 will be disbursed to the participating students ("mentees") upon successful completion of the following assessment tasks at the end of the Scheme.

Lifelong Learning

My Shi-Fu has had a significant influence on my career path, mindset, and working attitude.
When I graduated, he was very supportive of my academic aspirations, encouraging me to pursue my dreams. Through his introduction, I learned about the expansion of the MACSLE program at our university and the need for teaching assistants, which led me to apply for this position.
Dr. Shang, my mentor, is a positive role model for me. His diligent work ethic and high-level academic thinking continually inspire me to reflect on my own work and research development. His support and encouragement have greatly contributed to my personal growth, making me more confident in my abilities.

This is a rare opportunity to build a close relationship with a professor and learn professional knowledge in a face-to-face format. I truly appreciate the chance to connect with Dr. Norman and further collaborate with him. This program clearly provides a platform for students to gain in-depth and detailed professional knowledge from their mentors and helps them apply it to their future development. Additionally, I believe that being chosen by the professor is both an honor and a validation of my abilities, which boosts my confidence in my future learning journey. Therefore, I hope that more similar projects can be organized to provide additional opportunities for our students.
